Past international events supported by the Office of Academic Links (OAL) in 2016 and 2017 are as follows:
Hosted by the Nethersole School of Nursing, the event attracted more than 500 health and social care delegates from over 20 countries to discuss and explore strategies and initiatives for transformational and sustainable development in health and social care services in both local and global contexts.
The 4th Institute of Mathematical Statistics Asia Pacific Rim Meeting (27-30 June 2016)
Hosted by the Department of Statistics, the event attracted over 600 academics, field experts and doctoral students from 279 institutions and organisations in 28 countries/regions.
Jointly organised by the Institute of Environment, Energy and Sustainability, the Hong Kong Observatory and the Hong Kong Meteorological Society, the event attracted over 120 experts and participants from around the world.
2016 Strategic Management Society Special Conference in Hong Kong (10-12 December 2016)
Co-hosted by the Department of Management, CUHK, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and the University of Hong Kong, the conference attracted around 300 academics and students from around the globe to exchange research ideas and findings under the conference’s theme: ‘Contextualising Strategic Management in Asia: Institutions, Innovation and Internationalisation’.
Hosted by the Urban Studies Programme, the event attracted over 100 academics, field experts and doctoral students from 50 institutions and organisations in 12 countries/regions.
Co-hosted by the Computer Science and Engineering, CUHK and The University of Hong Kong, the conference gathered 240 scientists and researchers in the field of computational, mathematical, statistical and biological sciences at CUHK.
2017 Asian Meeting of the Econometric Society (3-5 June 2017)
Hosted by the Department of Economics, the event attracted around 1,000 scholars and researchers from over 200 universities and organisations around the world.
16th International Meeting on Boron Chemistry (9-13 July 2017)
Hosted by the Department of Chemistry, the event attracted some 220 academics, field experts and doctoral students from 96 institutions and organisations in 20 countries/regions.
