CUHK achievements 2023
CUHK is celebrating its 60th anniversary. In commemoration of this significant milestone, the University has organised more than 120 events under the theme ‘where great minds shine’, including academic conferences, lectures, exhibitions, concerts, and student-led activities.
In 2023, the CUHK community has excelled on many fronts. Over 560 faculty members and around 570 students have gained national, local, and global recognition in education, research, innovation and entrepreneurship.
During the year, CUHK once again performed impressively in global university rankings. In the Times Higher Education (THE) Asia University Rankings, CUHK was placed 6th, moving up one spot from the previous year, and attaining its highest position since the launch of the rankings in 2013. In the THE World University Rankings, it is placed 53rd. In the QS World University Rankings, CUHK has secured a position in the top 50 for the past five years. The University was placed 1st in Hong Kong and 53rd in the Best Global Universities Rankings 2023 of the US News and World Report, making it the top university in Hong Kong. Equally exciting was the news that CUHK had broken into the world’s top 100 for the first time in the THE Impact Rankings, and is ranked first in Hong Kong for the second consecutive year.
Such impressive results demonstrate the University’s continued influence and leading position in the global higher education community.
