Sparking cultural connections with Kyoto students
Kyoto students are captivated by the stunning campus of CUHK.
The Office of Academic Links (OAL) hosted a group of 13 postgraduate students under the School of Government of Kyoto University on 4 March. These students, who are members of a student society ‘Corner Table’, visited the CUHK campus as part of their tour in Hong Kong and mainland China. They were impressed by the spectacular scenery of the CUHK campus, which they found to be a stark contrast to their home institution. They engaged in an inspiring discussion with students of CUHK’s Master of Japanese Studies programme on the conflict and compromise which Kyoto and Hong Kong are facing between the local community and traditional industry. The group also participated in a class on ‘Japanese Manga and Animate at Historical Perspective’ with the local students. They extended their heartfelt gratitude for the opportunity to visit CUHK and connect with the local students. This is one of many such visits which OAL coordinates every year, bringing students from overseas universities and CUHK together.
CUHK and Kyoto students engage in a fruitful dialogue for cultural exchange.
