CUHK’s global footprint: Making waves at EAIE 2024 in Toulouse
CUHK promotes Hong Kong’s educational strengths alongside other Hong Kong universities.
CUHK was represented at the European Association for International Education (EAIE) Conference 2024 in Toulouse, France. Led by the Provost Prof. Alan Chan and Director of Academic Links Ms. Shally Fan, the CUHK delegation showcased the University’s global engagement and unwavering commitment to international education alongside other University Grants Committee (UGC) funded universities to promote Hong Kong as an international education hub.
Prof. Chan joined a panel session on ‘What’s New in Hong Kong’ where he spoke on the latest developments at CUHK and within Hong Kong’s higher education landscape. Additionally, a meeting with leaders from France Universités was arranged at the University of Toulouse Jean-Jaures, including the Presidents of the Université de Toulouse and Université de Rennes, Vice President of International Relations at Université de Bourgogne and representatives from France Universités.

The UGC-funded universities jointly hosted a dinner to reconnect with some 180 partners and friends in international higher education. Distinguished guests included Dr. Christine Yuk-lin Choi, Secretary for Education of the HKSAR Government and Prof. James Tang, Secretary-General of the UGC.
CUHK’s presence at EAIE 2024 was a testament to the University’s proactive efforts on internationalisation. By actively participating in such influential conferences, CUHK reinforces its position as a leading university that champions cross-cultural exchange and global learning.
