CUHK welcomes high-level delegation from Queensland
A delegation led by Prof. Deborah Terry AO (5th right), President and Vice-Chancellor, UQ, visits CUHK to exchange updates of the two universities.
In March, a 5-member delegation led by Prof. Deborah Terry AO, President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Queensland (UQ), met with CUHK leaderships and senior representatives to strengthen ties and discuss future collaborations, specifically in tackling the challenge of an ageing population via research and translation.
During the visit, Prof. Alan Rowan, Director of the Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology, and Prof. Pankaj Sah, Director, Queensland Brain Institute, also joined a roundtable chaired by Prof. Wai-yee Chan, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Strategic Developments), to exchange views and interests with CUHK researchers, including Prof. Andrew Chan, Director of the School of Biomedical Sciences; Prof. Bruce Ransom, Director of the Gerald Choa Neuroscience Institute; Prof. Vincent Mok, Director of the Therese Pei Fong Chow Research Centre for Prevention of Dementia; Prof. Patrick Wong, Director of the Brain and Mind Institute; and Prof. Owen Ko, Head of the Translational Neuroscience Unit in the Division of Neurology.
The delegation of UQ also visits the School of Biomedical Sciences to discuss potential collaboration in neuroscience.
