Reconnecting with institutions abroad

The beginning of the year 2023 saw vigorous international engagements at the University, with our senior leaders embarking on a number of trips to renew ties and explore collaborations with institutions abroad. Taking the opportunity of the Global Alumni Advisory Board meeting held in Singapore in January, Vice-Chancellor and President Prof. Rocky S. Tuan and Provost Prof. Alan Chan met with the heads of the Agency for Science, Technology, and Research (A*STAR), National University of Singapore, and Singapore Management University to explore collaboration opportunities. Prof. Chan also visited the Ministry of Education to learn about higher education development in Singapore and the role of internationalisation in the development.

Between February and March, Prof. Tuan also paid visits to a number of US universities, including Stanford University; the University of California, Berkeley; the University of Michigan; and the University of California, Davis to share the latest developments at CUHK, discuss partnership matters, and explore new collaboration.
