Forging ahead with the vigor of a tiger
CUHK exchange returnees host a virtual Lunar New Year gathering for incoming exchange students.
In Chinese culture, tigers represent bravery and courage—and seen as a symbol that can give people hope, especially in these challenging times. To spread strength and festive vibes, a group of exchange returnees hosted a virtual Lunar New Year gathering for incoming exchange students at CUHK in February.
Beverly Chan, Cece Wong and Miranda Yin, who are returned CUHK exchange students, were passionate about sharing the local culture and introducing CUHK with their fellows. They shared the customs of the Lunar New Year with incoming students through food tasting, making Chinese auspicious knot and Chinese paper-cutting. Miranda shared, ‘Despite of the challenges in hosting the first-ever online workshop, seeing our friends’ smiles and their New Year decorations were the best gifts in return!’
Incoming students showcase their handmade decorations.
